Translate a medicine label with Snap

Point the camera at a medicine box, or photograph a leaflet, and Snap translates the printed text so you can follow what the label says. Check the meaning with a pharmacist before you take anything.

Steps

  1. Open the camera or pick a photo

Use the Translation tab for the live camera, or open Tools and choose Pick a photo for a picture you already took.

  2. Choose the label language

Select the language printed on the box and the language you read.

  3. Read the translation

Move across the label, or open the photo result, and read the translated lines.

  4. Check with a pharmacist

Show the original box to a pharmacist and confirm the dose and any warnings before use.

A label translation helps you understand what is printed on a box you cannot read. It does not replace advice from a pharmacist or doctor.

Questions

Can I rely on the translation for dosage?
No. Snap is not a certified translator and translations can contain mistakes. Check with a pharmacist before taking any medicine.
Does Snap explain what a medicine does?
No. Snap translates the text on the label. It does not give medical advice.
